Podgorica: Speaker of the Shura Council H E Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, met with President of the Senate, Faisal Akef Al Fayez, and Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mazen Qadi, on the sidelines of the first Summit of Speakers of Parliaments and Presidents of Houses of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, held yesterday in the Republic of Montenegro.
During the meeting, they reviewed parliamentary cooperation relations and discussed several topics on the summit’s agenda, including parliamentary diplomacy, strengthening dialogue and cooperation between parliaments, and enhancing the resilience of democratic institutions.
Al Ghanim also met with President of the Parliament of the Republic of Montenegro, Andrija Mandic, where they discussed ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation and reviewed several issues of mutual interest, in addition to the summit’s agenda.
He further met with Speaker of the Maltese House of Representatives, Angelo Farrugia, where discussions focused on parliamentary cooperation between the two sides, as well as an exchange of views on the main themes of the summit.
In a related context, Secretary-General of the Shura Council Nayef bin Mohammed Al Mahmoud met with Secretary-General of the Parliament of Montenegro Boban Stanisic, where they reviewed administrative and parliamentary cooperation and coordination, and exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest.
