The podium winners of the Big Tour pose for a photograph with officials after the presentation ceremony at the Al Shaqab’s main arena yesterday.
DOHA: Salmeen Al Suwaidi yesterday guided Guilder’s Empire Of The Sun to a convincing win in the Big Tour competition on day one of the 12th and final leg of the Hathab Series.
Guilder’s Empire Of The Sun clocked a time of 57.52 seconds in the 130/140cm class at the Indoor Arena of Al Shaqab Arena. Al Suwaidi picked up the top prize.
Hamad Nasser Al Qadi, astride S I E C Lonnie, finished in second spot in a time of 61.19 seconds. Nasser Al Ghazali (Quel Homme) clinched the third place in a time of 63.73 seconds.
Hamad Nasser Al Qadi (St Lucia, 64.36 seconds) and Cyrine Cherif (Gerlin VD Waterkant 71.97 seconds) completed the top five in the day’s final competition.
Earlier in competition 2, Mohammed Said Haidan emerged victorious with a neat routine with Apple Bee in the Medium Tour battle.
Apple Bee clocked a time of 62.87 seconds as Haidan won QR 5,000.
Mohammed Sultan Al Suwaidi, astride Numero Uno T, secured the second place in a time of 65.63 seconds. Al Suwaidi won QR 4,000.
Sheikh Abdulla bin Nasser Al Thani guided Dollar Van De Zuuthoeve (69.50 seconds) to third spot which was worth QR 3,000.
Jaber Rashid Al Marri (Jazly, 70.73 seconds, QR 2,000) and Ahmed Mohammed Al Badi (Wadi Rum D D H, 71.61, QR 1,400) complete the top five riders.
In competition 1, Abdulla Rashid Al Amri kicked off the day’s proceedings by winning the first event by guiding Cindrella B to a flawless routine in the 110/115cm class.
Cinderella B clocked a time of 50.47 seconds as Al Amri won QR 2,500.
Mohammed Al Ghazali, astride Casanova S C H, bagged the second spot in a time of 50.65 seconds. Al Ghazali won QR 2,000 for his efforts.
Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi guided Daydreamer EC to the third place in a time of 51.15 seconds. Al Qadi won QR 1,500.
Al Qadi, astride Henrico, and Mohammed Nasser Al Qadi (Vlacido) completed the top-five riders out of a field of 43 riders.
Action continues today at Al Shaqab Arena where action commences at 4:00pm.
Tomorrow is the last day of the 12th round of the hugely popular Hathab Series.
