DOHA: The Qatar School for Science and Technology for Boys’ fifth graduation ceremony was held on June 23, marking a notable celebration of the outstanding achievements of 56 graduates who have been admitted to prestigious universities in Qatar and abroad.

The graduating class marked a significant milestone for the school as all 56 students have got admissions in 14 universities across five countries.

Among them, many students earned admission to prestigious international institutions, reflecting the school's growing reputation for academic excellence and its success in preparing students for higher education in leading global universities.

Speaking to The Peninsula, Academic Deputy of Qatar School for Science and Technology for Boys Dr. Rani Mohammad Ahmad Altoum described the graduating class as one of the strongest since the school's first batch of seniors in 2022, praising the students for their discipline, character, academic excellence, extracurricular involvement, and achievements at the national and GCC level.

"We consider this batch to be among the best the school has seen," he said. "Every single graduate has left a mark that will continue to influence future generations of students."

Congratulating the graduates and their families, Dr. Altoum encouraged students to view graduation as the beginning of a much longer journey.

"School was only the first stop," he said. "Continue giving it your all, pursue excellence in your university studies, and wherever life takes you, represent your school, your families, and your country with pride."

Among the graduates was Mohamed Al Houthi, who will attend the University of California, Berkeley's College of Letters and Science to study data science and mathematics while pursuing his passion for physics.

"I'm feeling very proud of myself," he said. "I want to thank the Minister of Education of Higher Education, my parents, my family, and my friends who helped me along the way."

Looking ahead, Al Houthi said success comes from commitment, love and more accurately “obsession.”

"A key word for me is obsession," he said. If I had a message for my future self, I would tell him "Love what you do, work hard, and pursue your passion. That's what opens doors for your future."

Another graduate, Ali who will study mechanical engineering at the University of Leeds, reflected on the emotions of graduation.

"It's hard to describe this feeling," he said. "Today I'm full of pride and happiness, especially because I'm surrounded by my family, teachers, and friends. Sharing this once-in-a-lifetime moment with the people I cherish most means everything."

Despite looking forward to university, he admitted leaving school behind would not be easy. "I'll miss everything," he said. "Even the first morning classes and exams are already becoming memories I'll look back on."

The ceremony celebrated graduates from the school's engineering, medicine, and technology tracks and featured a presentation showcasing their academic and research accomplishments before Her Excellency the Minister of Education and Higher Education presented students with their diplomas.

The graduation of the school's fifth batch reinforces Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys' role in preparing for future pioneers and leaders in science, technology, and engineering while contributing to the country's growing knowledge-based economy.
