Qatar Charity (QC) has offered instant relief due to the recent wave of snowfall in many areas of Tunisia. It has provided the schools with heating devices, equipped kitchens, and distributed winter clothes and blankets to students.
As a part of the national campaign launched by the Tunisian Ministry of Education to support, the snow-covered areas in northwest and western Tunisia, QC has distributed winter clothing, blankets and heating equipment, benefiting about 100 thousand students. It has also maintained 250 schools.
Through its intervention in Tunisia, QC has aimed at improving the school atmosphere, developing, restoring and furnishing school restaurants to provide hot and healthy meals to students to help them cope with these difficult climatic conditions.
Faisal Al Faheeda, QC’s Executive Director of Operations, said that QC has made great efforts to mitigate the impact of the snow wave that has hit several areas in Tunisia. "As a part of the national campaign launched by the Tunisian Ministry of Education to support educational facilities, QC has provided humanitarian aid including distributing blankets, equipment, and heating devices in the first phase. The second phase of offering aid has included developing and furnishing the kitchens of hundreds of schools in different areas of Tunisia. In addition, we have distributed gas stoves and high quality refrigeration units,” he added.
Stressing that QC’s projects in Tunisia will continue to support the development in Tunisia and provide assistance to the needy people, Al  Faheeda, on behalf of QC, thanked the generous donors in Qatar and the Tunisian government for the facilitation and cooperation that contributes to the easy implementation of the humanitarian institutions projects.
