Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has concluded interviews for Qatari trainers and children of Qatari women nominated to participate in the second cohort of its initiative to localise Qatari trainers in private educational and training service centres.
The interviews were held from August 16 to 20, 2026, with strong interest from applicants seeking to join the initiative and benefit from the professional opportunities it provides.
A total of 322 Qatari trainers and children of Qatari women applied for the second cohort. Following the screening and classification of applications based on approved requirements and criteria, 268 candidates were selected for interviews, including 253 Qatari trainers and 15 children of Qatari women.
The interview panels included ministry specialists as well as representatives from several national institutions, including Qatar Chamber, Qatar University’s Community Service and Continuing Education Center, Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, Al Jazeera Media Institute and Teach For Qatar. Their participation reflects the importance of partnership and coordination among national institutions in supporting and developing local talent.
The initiative aims to attract and qualify Qatari trainers and children of Qatari women, strengthen their professional capabilities and develop their skills, contributing to higher-quality educational and training services while empowering national talent to play an active role in the sector.
The initiative is part of the ministry’s efforts to promote the localisation of the private educational and training services sector, create professional opportunities for national cadres and harness their expertise and capabilities to improve the quality of services provided.
The initiative responds to the growing needs of private educational and training service centres and seeks to empower Qatari trainers by developing their professional capabilities. It aims to contribute to improving training outcomes and strengthening the country’s system of lifelong learning, in line with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
The training fields covered by the initiative include entrepreneurship, human development, creative thinking and problem-solving, time and stress management, leadership, and effective communication skills. These specialisations are closely aligned with the needs of the Qatari labour market.
As part of the implementation process, the Educational Services Centres Department conductes interviews with registered trainers to grant them approved cards and licences to work at educational and training centres. A list of licensed trainers will then be circulated to the centres, with follow-up on their engagement in delivering training programmes.
The ministry said the initiative represents an important step towards strengthening the role of national talent in supporting the knowledge economy and building a society based on continuous learning.
