Doha: President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania HE Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani affirmed that the Israeli aggression against Doha represents a new episode in a long-standing series of aggressive policies pursued by the Israeli occupation, through which it violated state sovereignty and undermined every genuine effort toward de-escalation and achieving a just peace.
In his address at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, President El Ghazouani reiterated Mauritania’s strongest condemnation of the Israeli aggression, affirming his country’s full solidarity with Qatar and stating that any violation of Qatar’s security is a violation of Arab and Muslim collective security, and any infringement on its sovereignty constitutes a serious provocation that cannot be tolerated or overlooked.
He added that the attack on Qatar represents a dangerous escalation and a clear indication of the absence of political will for peace on the part of the occupation, exposing its persistent determination to continue on a path of aggression and annihilation.
President El Ghazouani warned that Israel’s current course threatens regional and international peace and security, undermines the foundations of stability, and disrupts the international frameworks upon which collective security is built.
He noted that the current developments place countries in the region under a profound strategic burden that requires solidarity to safeguard collective security and regional stability, emphasizing that the nature of this stage demands moving from isolated reactions to a unified, coherent stance capable of influencing the course of events.
HE the Mauritanian President stressed that escalation cannot be met with silence but requires a serious, collective position based on relevant international mechanisms that protect state sovereignty, uphold dignity of peoples, and restore the role of international law as a cornerstone of global peace and security.
He also highlighted the role of the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, in ensuring adherence to international norms, noting that any comprehensive approach to sustainable stability cannot ignore the Palestinian issue, which remains at the heart of the conflict, the key to regional balance, and the foundation for any just and lasting peace.
In conclusion, President El Ghazouani called for the unity of Arab and Muslim nations to safeguard their interests and dignity, and to prevent any attempts to undermine their security and stability.
