Leading professional services firm, PwC, received three awards from the prestigious International Tax Review (ITR) European Tax Awards for EMEA Tax Policy Firm of the Year, Middle East Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year and the ITR EMEA Editors’ Choice Award 2020, awarded to PwC Middle East’s Tax Partner and Transfer Pricing Leader, Mohamed Serokh, for his progressive work in the field of transfer pricing in the region. The ITR is a leading global publication dedicated to the international tax industry.
The ITR European Tax Awards, now onto its 16th cycle, recognises remarkable achievements and developments by international tax professionals from the EMEA region. Award submissions are judged according to size, innovation, complexity and impactful client work over a 12-month period. Firms, in-house teams and individuals from over 30 jurisdictions competed for these awards, which were presented online on May 21.
Mark Schofield, Tax and Legal Services Leader at PwC Middle East, noted: “The awards recognise our commitment to our clients, the quality of our teams and the outstanding work they have undertaken across the tax spectrum in the region over the years. We are delighted to have been acknowledged by the ITR in these three categories. Having worked closely with governments as new tax systems have been introduced in the Middle East, we are particularly proud that PwC has been recognised as the European Tax Policy Firm of the year.
“We have also seen tremendous growth and interest in transfer pricing this year and are pleased to receive the national award for the Middle East Transfer Pricing Firm of the year and the individual recognition for Mohamed Serokh. We will continue to support our clients and the industry in navigating the upcoming market challenges and capitalising on the opportunities ahead.”
PwC also won two additional awards - Impact Deal and Cases of the Year - for other notable client work conducted in the region, further recognising the firm’s success and strength in the Middle East.
