Doha: Aspetar, orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital in Doha, Qatar, is set to host an international conference on medicine and science in athletics this coming weekend that will feature local and international experts.
The conference, which will run from tomorrow to May 5, comes as the country prepares to host the 2019 IAAF Doha Diamond League event on May 3rd and the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships that will start on 28 September 2019 and run until 6 October 2019.
The conference will run over three full days, with the sessions beginning at 1:00pm and lasting until 5:45pm on day one, and between 8:00am and 5:30pm on days two and three.
The sessions will include interactive workshops, seminars on how to prevent athletic injuries and other scientific-focused topics based on critical research conducted by Aspetar and those in attendance.
Since its creation as the first orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital in the region, Aspetar has constantly conducted leading medical research and studies in sports medicine, providing medical care and treatment for stars and clubs from around the world.
Aspetar is accredited by the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) to provide continuing medical education for healthcare practitioners. This conference has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the QCHP. Participants will earn 18.25 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.
