The Science India Forum- Qatar (SIFQ) held an online training programme for teachers on changing face of education, “ETeaching during and post COVID-19” on May 28. Mayuri Dutt, the speaker for the occasion is a counsellor and Child Therapist. She is also an administrator and mentor for the CBSE/ICSE schools.
Mayuri, addressed the teachers on the changing face of education in the light of the current challenges posed due to COVID-19. She highlighted e-teaching being the need of the hour and touched upon how the various trends such as remote learning, big data and personalized learning were enhancing online teaching to provide expanded access to information and quality of education around the world.
She further explained the importance of choosing the right online teaching method depending on the learner’s capability to impart required curriculum knowledge. She discussed the need to use the learning pyramid to identify which methods of studying were more effective than the others.
Social distancing measures to be implemented Post COVID-19 by schools in their classrooms as per the CBSE norms were explained to the teachers. The interactive session concluded with Mayuri Dutt answered various queries raised by the attending educators. The webinar was well attended by over 400 teachers from schools all over Qatar.
