Attiyah attends Ferjaan in Tokyo

Tokyo: Qatar’s Ambassador to Japan Yousef bin Mohammad Bilal, yesterday hosted a lunch banquet in honour of H E Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, the Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority (ACTA),  who is also head of Qatar-Japan Joint Higher Committee on the occasion of his visit to Japan to attend Qatar Ferjaan week, which kicked off earlier on Thursday.

Mohammad Bilal praised the success of Qatar-Japan cooperation and partnerships attributing this success to Al Attiyah in his capacity as the head of Qatar-Japan Joint Higher Committee and hailed meantime His Excellency’s constant devoted efforts over extended years to maintain bilateral relations. 

The ambassador noted that the Qatar Ferjaan week, which reflects Qatari splendid culture, is an opportunity to fellow Japanese to get introduced to Qatar and to pave the way for a new phase of genuine work and deeper strategic partnerships between the two countries.

The banquet was attended by a number ambassadors and heads of missions of the GCC states and other Arab countries accredited to Japan.

The five-day festival is taking place in Tokyo to celebrate the Gulf country’s 40th anniversary of relations with Japan, noted HE Al Attiyah .

The “Qatar Ferjaan Week in Tokyo”, is being organised by Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) .

During the five days celebration of Qatar’s 40 year relations with Japan, Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) will bring mouth-watering Qatari recipes to Ferjaan  for example chicken majbous, tharid, rice, salonahot, balalithot as main courses and khanfarouch and lgimat exquisite deserts.

QTA, in collaboration with the Ritz-Carlton has sent five top local chefs from the Ritz-Carlton to cook delicious dishes for the visitors to the Ferjaan festival.

Hana Al Emadi from QTA said, “Qatar’s heritage is rich in history and in its cuisine. In addition to the traditional set of activities we’ll be presenting at the QTA booth we’ve decided to set up a custom made café dedicated to Qatar Week: Ferjaan as we hope to bring to the Japanese audience a delicious flavour of our nation and help them grasp the richness of the Qatari culture.”
