Doha: The Ministry of Labour has provided multiple reporting channels to enable workers and members of the public to report violations of the Summer Working Hours Decision and occupational safety requirements, reinforcing its commitment to protecting workers from heat stress and ensuring compliance with labour regulations.

The ministry said reports of non-compliance can be submitted through its dedicated hotline 40488264 or via email at [email protected], allowing authorities to respond promptly and take the necessary legal action against employers who fail to adhere to the regulations.

The reporting channels form part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen workplace safety during the summer season, when strict measures are in place to protect outdoor workers from the risks associated with high temperatures. The ministry stressed that prompt reporting helps inspectors intervene quickly, investigate complaints, and ensure that employers comply with the approved working hours and occupational safety standards.

The Ministry of Labour encouraged workers, employers, and the wider community to be active partners in safeguarding workers’ health by reporting any observed violations. It emphasized that community participation is essential to enhancing compliance and preventing heat-related illnesses in workplaces across the country.

Reaffirming its commitment to effective enforcement, the ministry said all reports are handled with urgency to ensure appropriate action is taken, contributing to safer working environments and improved occupational health standards.

The awareness initiative is being conducted under the slogan “Heat Fades.. Safety Stays” as part of the national campaign #Together_Against_Heat_Stress, highlighting Qatar’s continued focus on worker welfare and the strict implementation of summer workplace safety regulations.

The Ministry of Labour is carrying out a series of awareness activities in conjunction with the launch of the Heat Stress Campaign 2026, which the Ministry launched in cooperation with a number of partners in the government and private sectors, with the aim of raising awareness of the dangers of heat stress and enhancing compliance with preventive measures at work sites.

The campaigns accompanies the implementation of Ministerial Decision No. (17) of 2021 on regulating working hours in outdoor spaces during the summer, which is applied annually during the period from June 1 to September 15. It stipulates the prohibition of work in open outdoor spaces and shaded areas not equipped with adequate ventilation, during the period from 10am to 3:30pm, with work resuming after the end of the prohibited hours, ensuring a reduction in workers’ direct exposure to high temperatures.
