In a statement, MoI said: "Maritime patrols immediately initiated search operations on the evening of Saturday, June 27, 2026."
In the early hours of Sunday, June 28, 2026, the Maritime Search and Rescue Team of the General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security located the missing vessel.
according to the statement, search operations confirmed that a Qatari citizen was martyred after sustaining injuries from shrapnel resulting from the military operations in the area. An Arab resident was also injured and has been transferred to hospital for medical treatment. He is in stable condition.
The Ministry of Interior extended its sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the family of the martyr, praying to Allah the Almighty to bestow His vast mercy upon him and grant him a place in His spacious Paradise.
The Ministry also prays for the swift recovery of the injured individual and confirms that investigations and procedures regarding the incident will continue in accordance with established legal frameworks.
