Minister of Education and Higher Education issues decision to open 6 new schools

Doha, Qatar: Minister of Education and Higher Education HE Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater has issued Decision No. (14) of 2026 on the opening of six new schools and the appointment and transfer of a number of school principals, as part of the Ministry’s preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year and its continued efforts to develop the education system and enhance the readiness of government schools.

The decision stipulates the opening of six new government schools: Qatar Science and Technology Preparatory and Secondary School for Boys – Al Sakhama; Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Girls – Rawdat Al Hamama; Ain Khaled Secondary School for Boys; Doha Preparatory School for Girls; Al Thakhira Primary School for Boys; and Muaither Primary School for Boys.

The decision also includes the appointment of 17 male and female principals and the transfer of 17 male and female principals to a number of government schools, supporting the efficiency of school administration and enhancing the readiness of the education sector for the start of the new academic year.

The decision comes as part of the Ministry’s efforts to provide a high-quality educational environment and develop educational capacities and school leadership in line with Qatar’s growth and evolving educational needs.

It also contributes to achieving the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 under its human development pillar by investing in education and developing human capabilities in support of the State of Qatar’s sustainable development.
