Doha: The environs of the Birla Public School wore a festive look with twinkling lights and a riot of balloons at the 15th Founders’ Day ( Day 2) with the theme Assman se Aage (Beyond The Skies). The students captivated the audience with their endearing and enthusiastic performance with bundles of joy running helter shelter and coloring the school with their imagination and creativity, certainly proved the adage to be true.
The Head Boy Hisham Sharaff and Head Girl Julia, welcomed the parents and paid tribute to patron Sheikh Saoud bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani and chief guest Ranjan Mathai, former Foreign Secretary, External Affairs Ministry, India; guests of honor, R K Dalmia, President, Century Textiles and Industries Limited Mumbai and senior governing council member of Birla Public School Doha; Hamad Al Ghali Al Marri Director of Private School Licensing Department, Ministry of Education; and Lukose K. Chacko, Chairman of the School and Board of Directors; and other board of directors who graced the occasion.
The Annual Report read by the Principal, A P Sharma, brought to fore the scholastic and co-scholastic achievements of the students of the school. The remarkable accomplishments like inauguration of Atal Tinkering Lab in the Gulf Region, hosting the second edition of TEDx, improvising sports facilities, attaining license to host different competitive exams like JEE and chartered Accountant examination, schools participation in various community programmers were presented to the audience.
On the occasion, the teaching staff with perfect attendance for 10 consecutive years and the teaching and non-teaching staff who have rendered service for 15 glorious were honoured by conferring medals and certificates. The first, second and third rank holders of class 10 and the subject toppers of class 10 and 12 and the top scorers who bagged A1 in all the subjects were honoured with certificates and medals.
An array of cultural activities continued on the second day of the 15th Founders’ Day. The vibrant music, breath-taking colours and highly coordinated movements set the tone for various folk dances, where students performed the eye-catching performances.
Fusion showing cultural diversity of India was also staged, in which, students were proud of being Indian as Indian diversities of dance and clothes were presented on the stage showing Indian togetherness and brotherhood.
Programs such as Gyanadeepti, Navarasaleela, Athijeevanam, Indo Qatar Fusion, Othello, Evolution of Dance, Chuk de Charlie Chaplin which showcased students artistic skills. The show was a sumptuous feast for the audience. The Graduation Ceremony with the theme ‘Assman se Aage’ (Beyond The Skies) enthralled the audience. Vote Of Thanks was rendered by Vice Head Girl Saadiya Rafiq and President Sanjana Sanoj.
