Kuwait City: Kuwait's air defenses intercepted ballistic missiles and drones that entered its airspace from Iran, the country's Defense Ministry said on Friday.

A Kuwaiti military spokesperson said the armed forces detected hostile ballistic missiles and drones from early morning and successfully intercepted and dealt with them.

He said the reported attacks targeted military facilities and army camps using drones, resulting in injuries to several members of Kuwait's ground forces while carrying out their duties. The injured personnel were receiving medical care and were reported to be in stable condition.

He added that several vital and civilian facilities were also targeted, including a power generation and water desalination station. The attacks caused a fire, damage to parts of the facility and electricity generation units, as well as material damage from falling debris at several locations.

The spokesperson stressed that Kuwait's armed forces remained fully operational and were continuing to take all necessary measures to protect the country's sovereignty, security and stability, in coordination with relevant authorities.
