Students of Pakistan International School-Qatar elect Head Boy & Head Girl

Principal of Pakistan International School-Qatar (PISQ), Nargis Raza Otho, has pinned the badges to newly elected Head Boy and Head Girl for the year 2019-20. Then, the other members of Student Council were sworn in by the newly elected heads of the student parliament.

The elections for the parliament were conducted in two phases. In the first phase, the students elected class leaders through balloting. In the second phase, all the students of the school exercised their right to vote for the election of the Head Boy & the Head Girl which indeed was the most thrilling of all. The Investiture Ceremony of Student Council for the session 2019 was held recently. The oath-taking ceremony commenced after declaration of the roles, for which the Principal of the school was invited on the stage. She administered the oath of honour and dedication to the members of student council. 

Donning the mantle of responsibility, they also vowed under oath that they will be active and responsible members of the student executive council and will abide by the laws made by the School and the managing body to guarantee themselves and the student body a better School life.

Wonderful speeches were delivered by the Head Boy and Head Girl who spoke about the qualities of a true leader. They acknowledged the solemnity of their roles by saying that power comes with responsibility and also prayed for God’s blessings, on behalf of all the office bearers, for enabling them to carry out their duties to the best of their abilities and uphold the name of the school for achieving the best. 

Principal Nargis Raza Otho congratulated and advised the students to work with responsibility and honesty and to uphold these honourable positions with integrity. She described the school elections as a platform for the young parliamentarian to learn how to maintain discipline, interact with their peers and aid their fellow students. 

She also emphasized the importance of right of vote, instructing them to make a fair use of their vote for the efficient candidates and show their sincerity and commitment to contribute to uplift the progress of the school.
