Doha: President of Qatar University (QU) H E Dr Hassan bin Rashid Al Derham announced to establish Qatar University for Technology Company soon.
He explained that it will be a holding company that works to incubate and develop the ideas of researchers and students.
Speaking in a Qatar Radio programme, Dr. Al Derham said: “We have done a feasibility study to establish this company ... which is a holding company that works to incubate and develop the ideas of our researchers and students, and then establish new micro or emerging companies that form the nucleus for creating opportunities and real sustainable development in Qatar and the creation of what is known as a knowledge-based economy.”
He said that this will be one of the main initiatives adopted by the university and approved by the Board of Trustees and will be launched soon.
