DOHA: Qatar's largest women's fashion exhibition showcasing latest Spring/Summer and Ramadan 2015 collections of Arab and Khaliji designed abayas, kaftans, jalabiyas and dresses opens June 10 at the Doha Exhibition Centre.
Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and Design Creationz are organising the six-day show titled “Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition”.
The seventh edition of the exhibition will display latest trends in the world of Khaliji abayas, Arabic kaftans, veils and evening gowns, event organisers said.
The exhibition will display more than 337 brands. From Qatar 89 designers are taking part. Designers from Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia will showcase their latest collections in customized boutique spaces.
QTA Exhibitions Director Hamad Al Abdan said, "This year's Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition will see a complete transformation as we work to reposition the event to a world class fashion destination. This year's event will be bigger and better and it will feature many new elements and fashion focused activities."
Doha is ranked among the top shopping destination in the region and we believe that the revamped Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition comes as part of QTA's plan to develop a sustainable tourism sector in Qatar. The exhibition addresses an important segment in the GCC community and we expect to attract a massive audience from the region, he said.
Design Creationz Operational General Manager Michelle Demenjon said, "We wish this year's rebranded exhibition to be much more than just a shopping destination. We want to create a place for women to showcase, inspire, socialise, network and motivate others in the industry to reach international recognition."
Since our opening in 2012, Design Creationz has supported dozens of designers within Qatar and the GCC region and has managed to create enormous opportunities and to open many doors in the fashion industry, she said.
The exhibition will host daily fashion shows throughout the six days. Spread over 7,500 sqm, the exhibition will host three social zones with coffee shops including Katara Halls and Pierre Herme Paris.
The exhibition expects to welcome more than 30,000 people from Qatar and the Gulf countries, organisers said. QNA
