DOHA: Qatar University (QU), in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, announced the details of the third edition of the Qatar University Book Fair 2026 during a press conference attended by representatives of local media outlets and relevant stakeholders.

During the conference, the university outlined the fair’s objectives and its cultural and knowledge-driven vision while also revealing that the event will take place from 1 to 5 February 2026.

The fair aims to support cultural engagement, promote academic publishing, and foster a culture of reading and scientific research among students and the wider university community. On this occasion, Sheikha Sheikha Ahmad Al-Thani, Director of QU Press, affirmed that organising the third edition of the fair reflects the Press’s ongoing commitment to supporting knowledge dissemination and advancing academic publishing.

She highlighted the fair’s role in strengthening intellectual and cultural exchange within the university community and beyond, stating, “The third edition of the QU Book Fair 2026 comes as part of the Press’s commitment to advancing academic publishing, supporting knowledge, promoting a culture of reading and scientific research among students and the university community, and reinforcing the university’s role as a leading intellectual and cultural hub.”

Abdulrahman Al-Hatmi, a representative of the Ministry of Culture, stated, “As part of the ongoing collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and QU, the third edition of the QU Book Fair reaffirms that books will always remain a beacon of knowledge and learning, a bridge for communication, and a vital means of reinforcing national identity and promoting the values of knowledge and creativity.”

He added that the exhibition reflects the State of Qatar’s vision of making culture a fundamental pillar of sustainable development, while also translating the commitment of academic institutions to fostering a love of reading and scientific research among students.

He further emphasised that the Ministry of Culture continues to support all initiatives that enhance Qatar’s cultural standing and open new horizons for youth, in firm belief in the role of culture in building individuals and shaping the future.

The QU Book Fair serves as a key knowledge platform that contributes to enriching academic content, supporting cultural dialogue, and highlighting the university’s role in building an informed and knowledge-driven society, in line with its academic mission and commitment to community engagement.
