Bangkok: Saeed Abusharib won a gold medal as Qatar completed an impressive run at the Thailand Open Shooting Championships 2018.
In addition to Abusharib, Rashid Al Athba won a silver medal, as Qatari shooting team secured the gold medal in Thailand.
Team Qatar secured another silver medal through Reem Al Sharshani, Hager Mohammed and Sara Mohammed in the female category.
The hosts, Thailand were ranked second in the tournament’s final group standings while China secured the third spot.
Head of delegation and chairman of the national shooting team committee, Ali Saeed Al Mannai hailed the Qatari team’s success in the skeet championship.
He said these victories help the shooters prepare for the upcoming Asian games, which will be held in August in Jakarta, Indonesia.
He added that the success during the Thai championship is mainly due to the aspirations sought by the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association headed by Ali Mohammed Al Sheikh Al Kuwari, President of the association.
