Doha: The Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) and Qatar Airways have renewed their sponsorship for the Qatar Cricket Association T20 Tournament 2022 organised with the participation of 64 teams at the West Bay cricket grounds.

The final of the Premier Division is set to take place at the Asian Cricket Ground tomorrow.

The Premier Division includes ten teams with the final featuring the Warriors Cricket Club and Galfar Al Misnad Cricket Club.

Furthermore, a total of 30 teams competed in the recent Division B, while Division C featured 24 teams.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, H E Akbar Al Baker said: “For many years, Qatar’s expat community has long been passionate about cricket. The development of the sport has reached new heights within the local community. We are committed to supporting the growth of cricket in Qatar by being the Main Sponsor for the QCA T20 Tournament 2022.”

QCA President, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, expressed his excitement for the continuation of the sponsorship with Qatar Airways, pointing to the committee’s endeavour to expand the scope of the longstanding ties with the airline.

This sponsorship comes as a qualitative leap for the Qatari cricket community, with the aim of contributing to the development of this sport, especially after the great efforts made by the QCA to advance the game and expand the base of participation in it, by attracting players and expressing their passion for the sport.
