Doha: Abdelkarim Hassan’s hat-trick led Qatar to a smashing victory against Yemen at Arabian Gulf Cup’s group A match.
The defender, the winner of 2018’s Asian Player of the Year award gave Qataris an edge with a goal at 30th minute.
At 37th minute Abdelkarim struck again with a powerful shot from outside the box.
He closed his hat-trick at 72th minute from a penalty to score Qatar's fourth goal.
Meanwhile Abdullah Al Ahrak made it 5-0 with a strike from outside the box at 85th minute.
Almoez Ali had struck at 57th minute.
At 89th minute Akram Afif closed the score sheet with Qatar’s a sixth goal.
In tournament’s opening match at the same Khalifa International Stadium Iraq had won the against Qatar 2-1.
The result helped Qatar in the group after losing the opening match.
Qatar is now second in the group behind Iraq, who have reached the semi-finals.
Yemen became the first team to get knocked out.
