DOHA: Qatar football team will continue to train in Doha until August 8 when they depart for the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia, it was announced yesterday.
The Games will be held from August 14 to September 1 in Jakarta and Palembang.
The Al Anabi squad will miss key players Al Aziz Ali, Akram Afif, Bassam Al Rawi and Abdullah Abdulsalam who will be busy with club duties in the AFC Champions League quarter-finals to be played in late August.
Qatar will play in Group B of the 2018 Asian Games which also includes Thailand, Uzbekistan and Bangladesh.
Al Anabi face Uzbekistan on August 14.
