Abidjan: Qatar’s Ambassador to the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire H E Jaber bin Jarallah Al Marri laid the foundation stone of a project for building  a health centre and a mosque in the Abobo-Biabo neighbourhood, one of the municipalities of Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d'Ivoire, with the support of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in the State of Qatar.

The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by Sheikh Ousmane Diakite, President of the Supreme Council of Imams, Mosques and Islamic Affairs, Supreme Commander of Muslims in Côte d’Ivoire, and a number of officials in the country.

The President of the Supreme Council of Imams, Mosques and Islamic Affairs of Côte d’Ivoire expressed his thanks and appreciation to Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for his continuous efforts to serve Islam and Muslims all over the world.

For his part, the Ambassador praised the excellent relations between Qatar and Côte d’Ivoire, with the support and care of the leadership of the two countries, stressing the State of Qatar’s keenness to upgrade these relations to better levels in the future, especially in the economic and cultural fields.
