QC and Jordanian delegation discuss ways to enhance cooperation in labour affairs

Qatar Chamber (QC) hosted a meeting yesterday with the members of a visiting Jordanian delegation led by Undersecretary of Labour Ministry Farouq Al Hadidi. The Qatari side made the Jordanian side aware about Qatar’s requirement with regard to enhancing cooperation in labour affairs.

QC’s Second Vice-Chairman Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba headed the Qatari side in the meeting which was also attended by QC Board Member Abdulrahman Abduljalil Abdulghani along with a number of businesspersons.

Expert at the Undersecretary’s office of the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs Mohamed Al Meer and Deputy Ambassador of Jordan to Qatar  Amjad Mubaideen were also present at the meeting.

The meeting reviewed means to enhance cooperation between both sides in labour affairs through the Qatari imitative to provide 10,000 jobs for Jordanian youth in Qatar. It also touched on the electronic platform dedicated for this regard.

On his part, Al Athba praised the distinguished fraternal relations between Qatar and Jordan, noting that there is a significant interest from both sides to further strengthen these relations and develop them to higher levels.

He said that mutual visits in the official and private sector levels reiterated both sides’ desire to enhance relations with Qatar, pointing to the visits of Jordanian Minister of Labour Nedal Faisal El Batayneh and Chairman of Jordan Chamber of Commerce Nael Al Kabariti.

Al Athba stressed that businessmen from both countries enjoy a good opportunity to forge more investments whether in Qatar or in Jordan, noting that investment climates in both countries is attractive and welcoming more partnerships.

He eluded the directives of the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to provide 10,000 jobs for Jordanian youth, assuring that it added further momentum to both countries’ distinct relations and reflected Qatar’s interest to take advantage of potentials and skills of Jordanian youth in its inclusive development.

“Jordanian community in Qatar are highly qualified and characterized by respect, dedication and respect,” he added.

QC Second Vice-Chairman stressed the chamber’s support for this initiative, noting it encourages local companies and businessmen to recruit Jordanians in their business.

For his part, Al Hadidi explained advantages and mechanisms of the National Employment Platform “Sajel”, noting it is a developed alternative to the previous platform.

Al Hadidi noted that all observations and queries raised by the Qatari private sector were taken into consideration in the setting up of the platform, which became the only national system in Jordan to deal with employment and meet the needs of the private sector locally and abroad in Jordanian labor.

“The number of registered people so far has reached 29,000, and the number is expected to increase by 10,000 per month in the coming period,” he added.

He praised the cooperation between both countries’ ministries of labour and Qatar Chamber which is the representative of the Qatari private sector.
