Doha: Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) said in a report that there is a possibility for local convective cloud development during noon time between September 29 (Tuesday) until October 1 (Thursday). Chances of scattered rain may be thundery at times, is also likely in some areas.
"It is worth mentioning that this period is locally called "Qalaid Alwasmi" which precedes the favourable season for rain locally known as "Alwasmi" that starts in mid-October," QMD added.
QMD also mentioned that thundery rain is accompanied at times with hail and strong downdraft winds causing rising dust and poor visibility.
