The View Hospital Reinforces Its Standing Through Innovation and Human-Centered Care

Doha, Qatar: In light of recent regional developments and the challenges faced across the region, Apex Health, the fastest-growing healthcare groups in the region, continues to reinforce its readiness and ability to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of healthcare services at the highest standards. This is driven by the integrated readiness of its hospitals across the country, operating as a unified system to maintain continuity of care under all circumstances.

This approach is reflected across Apex Health’s network in Qatar, where The View Hospital stands as one example of this model, adopting advanced medical technologies and comprehensive care frameworks aligned with international standards. It also leverages global shifts as opportunities to drive excellence and sustainable growth, further strengthening Qatar’s position in global health indicators.

The launch of the “Peace of Mind” initiative reflects this direction, expanding the scope of healthcare beyond traditional treatment to include mental wellbeing as a fundamental pillar in building a balanced and sustainable society.

In this exclusive interview with Al Sharq, Dr. Fatih Mehmet Gül, CEO of Apex Health - Qatar, sheds light on the hospital’s strategies for delivering advanced care, its expansion plans in specialized medical services, and his vision for the future of Qatar’s healthcare sector and improving quality of life.

How do you view the “Peace of Mind” initiative launched by The View Hospital, and what is its significance in supporting mental health and raising awareness in Qatar?

The “Peace of Mind” initiative represents a genuine shift in how we approach healthcare across Apex Health. We no longer treat mental health as secondary, it is a core pillar, equally important as physical health, particularly amid increasing pressures driven by global economic and political complexities.

The initiative was launched in response to the recent pressures experienced across the region, which had a noticeable impact on people’s mental wellbeing. It highlighted the need for accessible and timely support to help individuals manage stress and maintain balance.

“Peace of Mind” is designed as an open and safe platform offering free, confidential, 24/7 psychological support, without complex procedures or referrals. This accessibility reflects our philosophy of removing barriers and encouraging individuals to seek help without hesitation.

Its impact goes beyond treatment; it reshapes societal awareness, normalizes conversations around mental health, and promotes a culture of balance and wellbeing. In a fast-growing and diverse society like Qatar, such initiatives are essential to enhancing quality of life and social stability.

How has the current global political landscape affected your operations, and how have you maintained service continuity at the same level of quality?

Healthcare cannot be isolated from the global context, especially in the hard times. We addressed these challenges through a comprehensive approach built on partnership, flexibility, and proactive planning. Collaboration with our partners has been a key success factor in navigating these complexities.

Suppliers played a critical role in maintaining operational continuity, demonstrating high flexibility and commitment despite global supply chain pressures. Continuous coordination ensured supply prioritization and helped overcome logistical challenges.

Support from the Ministry of Public Health was also fundamental, through flexible regulations and streamlined procedures that ensured uninterrupted services while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Additionally, our Board of Directors played a strategic role by enabling rapid decision-making, allocating resources, and approving flexible plans. Internally, we strengthened supply chain management, built strategic reserves, and invested in advanced digital systems for predictive demand planning.

Ultimately, continuity was the result of an integrated ecosystem, partner support, policy flexibility, strong governance, and internal readiness.

How do you assess the strength of Qatar’s healthcare sector amid global challenges?

Qatar’s healthcare sector has proven to be strong, resilient, and highly adaptable. This is driven by a clear strategic vision, substantial infrastructure investments, and strong government support.

A key strength lies in the integration between the public and private sectors, which enhances efficiency and system resilience. Qatar’s relative stability also provides an added advantage, enabling the sector to operate within a secure and supportive environment.

How do you ensure sustainable availability of medicines and medical supplies?

At our hospitals, we adopt a multi-dimensional strategy that goes beyond traditional supply chain management, based on proactivity and flexibility.

We have built a continuously updated strategic stockpile based on consumption analysis and scenario planning. We also invest in advanced digital systems that enable demand forecasting and efficient resource management.

Close coordination with regulatory authorities, particularly the Ministry of Public Health, ensures alignment with national policies, while strong partnerships with strategic suppliers guarantee priority access during high-demand periods.

How does Apex Health hospitals contribute to strengthening the private healthcare sector in Qatar?

The private sector is now a strategic partner in building a competitive and integrated healthcare system.

At Apex Health Qatar, we contribute by delivering high-quality, advanced medical services aligned with international standards, strengthening trust in the private sector locally and internationally, especially in medical tourism.

We also focus on enhancing the patient experience beyond treatment, ensuring service quality, efficiency, and comfort. Through international partnerships, we bring global expertise into the local market, elevating standards and capabilities.

How do you evaluate public–private integration in Qatar’s healthcare system?

Public–private integration is one of the system’s greatest strengths. It is no longer optional; it is a strategic necessity.

The public sector provides regulatory frameworks and infrastructure, while the private sector brings agility, innovation, and efficiency. Together, they create a more resilient and adaptive healthcare system.

This collaboration also opens opportunities in digital transformation, research, and training, directly improving service quality and patient outcomes.

What are the key lessons learned from this period, and how will they shape your services going forward?

This period reaffirmed the strength and readiness of our operational system in Qatar, and our ability to respond efficiently while maintaining continuity without any noticeable impact on the level of care provided. It also highlighted the importance of working within a flexible and integrated system that can adapt to changing conditions without compromising quality.

At the same time, it reinforced our commitment to continuously enhancing our operating models through ongoing investment in our people, technologies, and supply chains, supporting even greater readiness and faster response in the future.

Building on this, we continue to strengthen integration across all parts of the healthcare system, while expanding the use of digital solutions to improve efficiency and further enhance the patient experience.

We also remain focused on delivering integrated care that combines clinical excellence with a strong human approach, in line with the evolving needs of the community and the long-term sustainability of the healthcare sector.

Apex Health, the fastest-growing healthcare provider continues to strengthen its integrated healthcare model through a strong focus on clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and patient experience. Apex Health today operates a network of eight hospitals across four countries, with more than 2,700 beds, and a diverse workforce representing more than 70 nationalities.

The group delivers care at scale, with more than 2.8 million outpatient visits, over 500,000 emergency visits, and 175,000 inpatient admissions annually, reflecting both its operational strength and the trust it continues to earn across the communities it serves.
