Doha, Qatar: The Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centre in Doha is preparing to launch its new educational and cultural season on September 13, offering a diverse programme of language courses, arts workshops, heritage activities, culinary sessions and cultural events aimed at strengthening cultural ties between Qatar and Türkiye.
The new season reflects the centre’s continued efforts to promote the Turkish language and culture in Qatar while creating opportunities for cultural exchange and interaction between the Turkish and Qatari communities.
The centre will offer a range of Turkish language courses for adults and children during the new season, with programmes scheduled on both weekdays and weekends to accommodate different schedules.
The courses are designed to provide a specialised learning environment in which participants can develop their Turkish language skills according to appropriate proficiency levels.
Students who successfully complete their programmes will also have the opportunity to sit for the Turkish Proficiency Exam (TYS), an internationally recognised examination accredited by the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE). The certification enables learners to formally demonstrate their level of Turkish language proficiency.
Beyond language education, the centre’s programme features a wide range of interactive cultural and artistic activities offering participants an opportunity to explore different aspects of Turkish heritage.
Workshops will cover traditional art forms including oil painting, illumination, Arabic calligraphy and ebru (marbling), allowing participants to learn about the techniques and traditions behind these longstanding forms of Turkish art.
Director of the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centre in Doha Anwar Gidik, (pictured) expressed his satisfaction with the preparations for the new educational season, stressing the centre’s commitment to offering a programme that combines educational courses with cultural and artistic activities.
He said the aim was to make the new season “rich, enjoyable and beneficial” for participants, while encouraging members of the public to engage with the centre’s programmes.
“Our cultural centre’s doors are always open to everyone who wishes to learn more about the Turkish language, culture and arts. We are pleased to welcome our audience to our various programmes and events, and look forward to receiving everyone in the activities of the coming season,” Gidik said.
