Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced Saturday an attack on a major industrial facility in the Russian city of Volgograd.

Zelenskyy stated in a post on the "X" platform that the Titan-Barikady facility in Volgograd, in southwestern Russia, was targeted with FB-5 Flamingo missiles. He described the facility as a "major industrial complex" where Russia produces artillery systems and specialized military equipment, including components for missile launch systems.

For its part, the Ukrainian General Staff stated that the facility manufactures equipment for missile systems, including self-propelled launchers and transport and loading vehicles for the Iskander-M missile system, which it said is "the same system that Russia regularly uses to bombard Ukrainian cities."

The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has witnessed a significant escalation in recent days, with both sides targeting oil facilities and vital infrastructure in each other's countries.
