Doha: As many as thirteen countries including Qatar have confirmed their participation for the prestigious 26th Arab Table Tennis Championships which will take place in Cairo from July 30 to August 6.
According to Khalil Ahmed Al Mohannadi, Chairman of the Arab Table Tennis Federation (ATTF) the competition will be held at the Cairo International Stadium under the supervision of the Arab Table Tennis Federation and will see the participation of 386 players competing in five different categories of Under-21, Under-18 and Under-15 years. There will be 30 different competitions which include ten team’s competitions, individual events, and mixed doubles.
Al Mohannadi informed that Tunisian Maher Ben Ahmed has been appointed as Tournament Director.
He said that the tournament will be based on the rules of international competitions according to the latest amendments adopted by the International Federation and the Arab Table Tennis Federation, according to the general regulations of the competitions of the Arab Championships and the special regulations, taking into account the amendments approved by the ATTF.
Al Mohannadi, informed that two meetings of the ATTF will take place on the sidelines of the tournament.
The first meeting of the Executive Office of the ATFF will take place on the August 2, while the second meeting will be held on August 4 of the same month.
Seventeen of the 20 national associations with the right to meet and vote, including Qatar, informed Al Mohannadi.
Tunisia hosted the Arab Table Tennis Championship in 2016 with the participation of 15 countries including Qatar.
