The Italy Premier Padel Major will have the biggest reach of any event in padel’s history after the conformation that 167 territories will broadcast the second ‘Major’ at the historic ForoItalico in Rome.

The 167 global territories surpassed the 156 regions that showed the inaugural event, the Ooredoo Qatar Major 2022 in March, with Premier Padel once again proving popular with the world’s leading media outlets.

This news further highlights the growing global popularity of the sport since the launch of Premier Padel, the official global padel tour – governed by the International Padel Federation (FIP) and backed by the Professional Padel Association (PPA) and Qatar Sports Investments (QSI).

New broadcasters coming on board for the Italy Premier Padel Major include Sky Germany (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg & South Tyrol), Sky UK (UK & Eire), Arena (Czech & Slovak) and Cosmote (Greece).
The new broadcasters join an already world class list of rights holders including ESPN, beIN SPORTS, Sky Italia, Supersport, and Viaplay.

Premier Padel will host at least ten (10) new tournaments in 2022 – including four category one “Major” events. The first major – the Ooredoo Qatar Major 2022 – took place in Doha in March. Together with the Italy Premier Padel Major getting underway today to 29thMay, the other category one tournaments are the Paris Premier Padel Major at Stade Roland Garros taking place from 11th July to 17thJuly, and the Mexico Premier Padel Major at the Club Sonoma en Monterrey, México on 28th November to 4thDecember.

As with all Category one tournaments, the players will be chasing a slice of €525,000 - record-breaking prize money that is on offer for all top tier Premier Padel tournaments as well as 2000 official ranking points for the winner.
Argentina Premier Padel P1 taking place from 8th to 14th August will be the inaugural category two tournament.
