ISLAMABAD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will allocate 70 percent of the new educational institutions to be opened in the province to girls in order to improve female education. This was stated by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar while speaking as chief guest at the first home economics conference organised by the Society of Home Economists at the Archives Library on Thursday.
He said that the provincial government wanted to provide modern education to girls and create job opportunities for them to address their economic necessities because without education modern society could not be formed.
Govt to approve new projects
ISLAMABAD: Without issuing working paper to ministries/divisions or provinces, the Nawaz Sharif government has convened a meeting of Annual Plan Coordination Committee (APCC) yesterday to approve mega development projects, financed with allocation of Rs525bn in the next budget 2014-15, it was learnt.
The working paper will be tabled among the participants during the meeting. The non-issuance of the working paper to provinces might trigger protest in the upcoming APCC meeting.
