Ramallah: The Palestinian Presidency warned on Friday of the serious consequences of continued Israeli violations against Al Aqsa Mosque and Islamic holy sites, including incursions and religious rituals.
In a statement marking the 57th anniversary of the Al Aqsa Mosque fire, it called for firm international action to halt the violations and stressed that East Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine and Al Aqsa Mosque is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory.
It also reaffirmed the sanctity of the mosque's entire 144-dunum compound and the need to preserve its historical and legal status.
