The four-time Dakar Rally winner Al Attiyah was making his Extreme E series debut along with the 2001 winner Kleinschmidt.
The Qatari-German duo finished eighth overall after the first round in the five-leg series. Rosberg X Racing’s Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky and Johan Kristoffersson won the opening round yesterday.
