Doha: First batch of Covid-19 vaccine will arrive in Qatar day after tomorrow, the Prime Minister said in a tweet.
The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani said in his tweet that the vaccine will reach Qatar on December 21 and will be provided to everyone according to health protocols.
“Under the directives of His Highness the Amir, the first shipment of Covid 19 vaccine will arrive day after tomorrow, and I have directed the health sector to provide it to everyone according to health protocols. This is an important step on the road to containing the pandemic and gradually returning life to normal and express our pride in the success of our plan to confront the disease, we renew our thanks to our medical teams and all those involved in it,” he tweeted in Arabic.

Earlier in an interview Dr Abdul-Wahab Al-Musleh, Advisor to the Minister of Public Health for Sports and Emergency Affairs, had said that priority will be given to the elderly and those with chronic diseases and to the frontline workers.
He also said that gradually in the following months, the vaccine will reach the rest of the public.
