DOHA: Unbeaten Al Duhail will be playing to complete their trophy treble when they take on Al Rayyan in the Amir Cup final today, a top club official said yesterday

A win at the Khalifa International Stadium today will seal Al Duhail’s trophy treble this season.

Al Duhail won the QNB Stars League title in March and then followed that triumph by bagging the Qatar Cup at the end of last month.

Team Director Adnan Al Ali said the team is focused on winning the Amir Cup final.

“Thank God that we succeeded in winning two titles this season. Now we want to continue that winning form by ending the season by lifting the Amir Cup,” Ali said in an interview. “We want to end the season without a loss,” he added.

Al Duhail played 22 matches in the regular season winning 19 of those games. The remaining three QNB Stars League matches were drawn.

Al Duhail, who have already sealed a berth in the AFC Champions League quarter-finals, played two matches in the Qatar Cup, winning both. Al Duhail played 8 matches in the AFC Champions League and won all those games.

“There is nothing left after this game. No team has done what we aim to do and that to complete the current season without a loss,” Ali said in an interview posted on the club website.

“This time we will have to prove our abilities against Al Rayyan in the Amir Cup final. We have already beaten top sides like Al Gharafa and Al Sadd this season,” he added.

“We respect Al Rayyan a lot and we know that it is one of the teams that has experience of doing well in the big finals,” he said.

“This will be the first time that we will meet Al Rayyan in a title match. We feel ready,” he said.
