DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 64.24 points , or 0.70 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 9,200.10 points.
Trading value during last week increased by 1.52 percent to reach QR1.54bn compared to QR1.52bn. Trading volume increased by 14.67 percent to reach 71,808,359 shares, as against 62,623,257 shares, while the number of transactions fell by 6.38 percent, to reach 24,058 transactions as compared to 25,698 transactions.
Market cap rose by 0.49 percent to reach QR504.69bn as compared to QR 502,247,267,260.66 at the end of previous week.
Banking and financial services sector led traded value last week with 46.14 percent of the total trading value. Industries sector accounted for 20.20 percent. Consumer goods and services sector accounted for 11.13 percent and real estate sector accounted for 10.32 percent.
Out of the 45 listed companies at the QSE 15 ended last week higher, while 30 fell.
The QNB led trading value during last week accounted for 11.83 percent of the total traded value. Masraf Al Rayan accounted for 10.51 percent and Qatar First Bank (QFC) accounted for 8.62 percent.
When compared on daily basis, the QSE) index gained 41.33 points, 0.45 percent.
The volume of shares traded decreased to 11.14 million from 13.72 million on Wednesday and the value of shares increased to QR886.02m from QR346.54m on Wednesday.
From the 45 companies, shares of 43 saw trading yesterday. From these, 25 gained, 16 closed lower and two companies remained unchanged.
Indices of four sectors ended in green and three sectors ended in red today. QSE Total Return Index gained 0.45 percent to 15,428.02 points.
