DOHA: The Ministry of Municipality has announced the launch of 34 new electronic services affiliated with the Livestock Department under the Agriculture and Food Security Affairs Sector, marking a significant step in its ongoing digital transformation journey.
The new services are part of the Ministry’s comprehensive plan to modernize public service delivery and make key livestock and veterinary procedures accessible online, around the clock. The initiative aims to streamline processes, reduce paperwork, enhance efficiency, and provide faster, more convenient access for livestock owners, traders, veterinary institutions, and related businesses.
The newly introduced e-services cover a wide range of permits, certificates, and regulatory procedures related to animal import and export, veterinary health certification, quarantine services, and company registration.
Among the key services launched are veterinary health certificates for the export of live animals, camels, horses, falcons, birds, rabbits, and pets such as cats and dogs. Import permits have also been made available electronically for live animals, camels, horses, ornamental fish and marine animals, falcons, birds, wild animals, table eggs and their products, as well as animal products and by-products.
The digital platform also includes permits for importing veterinary medicines, controlled and narcotic veterinary medicines.
It also includes veterinary biological products, cosmetic veterinary products, laboratory materials and equipment, and animal feed, additives, and feed supplements. In addition, exporters can apply online for veterinary health certificates for animal products and feed exports.
Pet-related services form a notable part of the new system, including import permits, return permits, and export health certificates for cats and dogs, reflecting the growing demand for streamlined procedures in this area.
The services further extend to veterinary quarantine procedures, such as amendment and extension of import and export permits, inspection of veterinary import and export certificates at border points, and exceptional export approvals for animals and birds limited to identified individuals. The system also allows for the registration and updating of company details for entities operating in veterinary quarantine services, as well as registration of tags and numbers related to slaughter certificates.
By integrating these 34 services into a unified electronic platform, the Ministry seeks to enhance transparency, accuracy, and traceability in livestock-related transactions while supporting national food security objectives. The 24/7 availability of services is expected to significantly reduce processing times and facilitate smoother trade and regulatory compliance. The launch underscores the Ministry’s commitment to leveraging digital solutions to improve public services and reinforce Qatar’s agricultural and livestock infrastructure.
