Doha: Lebanese driver Mansour Chebli topped the Production Class 1, continuing his brilliant run in the 2022 Qatar National Sprint, on Friday.
At the Lusail Circuit Sports Club Main Gate Parking Area, Chebli was the fastest in this class with a lap time of 59.647 seconds in his Renault Clio. Chebli was also the winner in both Open Class 1 and the Production Class 1 in the opening round of the six-leg series, held earlier this month. Qatar’s Nadim Ziade was second (1:00.967) on Friday while Chebli’s compatriot Hanibaal Eid came third (1:02.293), both in their Renault Clio RS vehicles.

Zaide won the Open Class 1 in 1:02.986 while Jad Alawar (1:04.323) and Bassam Chebli (1:23.029) made it an all-Lebanese podium. Jad Alawar won the Open Class 2, clocking the fastest time of the day, 55.422 secs, in his Mitsubishi Evo 8.
Qatar’s Abdulla Al Ghedaid won the Open Class 3 in his Lotus vehicle (1:00.232). Production Class 2 was won by Qatar’s Maher Serre (Porsche Cayman GTS – 57.146) while Class 3 saw another home driver Francesco Fornaciari (Lotus Exige – 56.666) at the top of the podium.
The third round of the series will take place on September 23.
