Doha, Qatar: Teams from the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) carried out overnight cleaning works on the walls of the Lusail– Onaiza Tunnel as part of efforts to maintain the appearance and cleanliness of Qatar’s infrastructure and enhance safety levels for road users.
The tunnel-cleaning works help improve air quality by removing accumulated dust, vehicle exhaust residue and other pollutants, creating a safer environment for motorists.
The works also contribute to improving visibility and traffic safety by maintaining the efficiency of lighting systems and reflective surfaces inside the tunnel.
Ashghal said regular cleaning operations also help protect infrastructure components and extend the operational lifespan of tunnels, contributing to lower maintenance costs over the long term.
