Charge d’Affaires at the Embassy of the Russian Federation H E Andrey Aristov stressed that relations between Qatar and his country are witnessing great progress in many fields, describing the two countries as world leaders in the export of gas and other energy sources, and they are considered essential and reliable partners for each other.
In an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), he said that the leaders of the two countries are in continuous communication on the full spectrum of the bilateral, regional and international agenda, noting that in 2021, this communication was supported by the participation of Qatar in the leading global platform for members of the business community — St. Petersburg International Economic Forum— as a guest of the forum, which indicates a common interest in improving bilateral cooperation relations in all fields, with a focus on trade, economic and investment fields.
The Charge d’Affaires added that at the beginning of next year, the Russian-Qatari Committee for trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation will be held in Doha, adding that the interaction mechanism has proven itself as a reliable platform for productive work in the field of developing bilateral economic relations, considering that the cooperation between the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Russian-Arab Business Council is very fruitful and useful.
He said that despite the difference in geography and climate, Qatar and Russia share common values, including pride in national traditions, respect for historical heritage, and the ability to respond to the challenges of the contemporary world.
