Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran H E Hamid Reza Dehghani (pictured), affirmed that there are many reliable economic opportunities in Qatar and his country that can be invested in for the interest of both sides, stressing that upgrading economic relations will reflect positively on all areas and achieving this goal can be done by removing the obstacles.
In an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), he said that Iranian-Qatari relations are distinct and historic, adding that the two countries have cultural and social ties, as well as common traditions and customs, which are valuable elements and factors for investing in the development of bilateral relations.
On Qatar’s handling of the COVID-19 crisis, the envoy expressed his great admiration for what the country has done through its various agencies, noting that the Qatari government and the sectors that took up the response to the pandemic worked through two main tracks in order to contain the crisis, control it and reduce its economic repercussions. He added that the first track was carried out through careful planning and the use of scientific methods, and the second was the organization and firmness in implementing the plans to confront this pandemic.
The Iranian Ambassador congratulated the Qatari government and all workers on front lines for their progress in defeating economic challenges during this difficult period, noting that this would not have happened without the adoption of plans and programs based on modern scientific data, especially as many countries are still suffering from the negative effects of the pandemic on their economies and commercial activities. However, the Qatari economy was able to overcome this stage and take the path of recovery and economic growth, he said.
