Doha: Qatari shooter Abdullah Al Sunaidi won the men's 10m air rifle gold medal on Day 12 of the Amir Cup Shooting and Archery Championships at the Lusail Shooting Complex yesterday.
Ahmed Al Ali won the silver medal while Abdul Rahman Al Sharshani won the bronze medal in the competition which saw a strong field.
Al Sunaidi yesterday expressed his happiness after the gold-winning effort and said: "It is a great honour for me to compete in the Amir Cup and I am very happy for being able to win the gold medal. This encourages me to achieve more great results future local and foreign competitions."
Al Sunaidi also noted he will also participate in the 50-meter rifle event in the coming days and is hoping to win his second Amir Cup gold.
In the youth category of the 10-meter air rifle competition, Saad Al Sulaiti won the gold medal while Abdulaziz Al Turki and Hamad Al Tamimi took silver and bronze medals respectively.
