Doha: The Swedish embassy in Qatar has rounded up more than 20 Swedish startup and scaleup companies interested in Qatar for digital presentations of innovative products and services within Life Science, Smart Industry and Sustainability.

During the two-day event, which opened yesterday, the companies representing the top layer of Sweden’s innovative ecosystem presented themselves to over 20 Qatari investors. The presentations were followed by one-on-one meetings between the companies and the investors. Sweden is one of the leading countries with regard to reaching the UN Sustainable Goals and ranked the second most innovative country in the world in this year´s Global Innovation Index.

“This is an excellent opportunity to strengthen cooperation and technical know-how exchange between our two countries. The interest we have seen from the Swedish companies and the Qatari investors has been impressive. The event has thus far been a great success,” said the Swedish Ambassador to Qatar H E Anders Bengtcen.

He added: “We are keen to cooperate with countries that have high ambitions in science and technology. With this event we want to give dynamic and expansive Swedish startup and scaleup companies an opportunity to showcase what they can offer Qatar”.

The event was digital, and ran from Virtuocity E-game arena in Doha Festival City.
