Doha, Qatar: Qatar table tennis team achieved a significant milestone by winning five medals including one gold, two silver, and two bronze in the team competitions of the Arab Teams Championship in Casablanca, Morocco.
The standout performance came from the U-11 boys’ team, which clinched the gold medal after a dominant run, culminating in a 3-0 victory over Bahrain in the final. The team, composed of Rabia Al-Kuwari, Mubarak Marzouq Al-Mansouri, Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, and Ahmed Nasser Abbad, also overcame Syria and Kuwait on their way to the title.
The U-15 boys’ team (Sultan Al Kuwari, Ahmed Eid, Rawad Al Nasser, and Youssef Abdul Zaher) secured a silver medal after finishing second to Bahrain, while the women’s team (Aya Mohammed, Maryam Ali, and Serena Sheikh) also took silver, narrowly missing out on gold to Jordan.
Qatar earned two bronze medals through the U-13 boys’ team (Abdulaziz Nasser Al-Abdullah, Issa Ibrahim Al-Haddad, and Mohammed Khalifa Al-Sulaiti), and the men’s team (Mohammed Abdul Wahab, Sultan Al Kuwari, Ahmed Eid, and Abdullah Abdul Wahab), who lost a tight 3-2 semifinal against Bahrain.
The championship, which gathered top Arab teams, saw high-level matches and was marked by strong Qatari performances across all age categories. The team was led by Greek coach Daniel, with honours presented by top officials from the Arab and national federations.
