African Capital Cities: Sudan's Al-Hilal secured a place in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League after edging past DR Congo's Saint Eloi Lupopo 1-0 in their final Group C fixture.

The match was held at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda -serving as Al-Hilal's designated home venue- where the Sudanese side delivered a disciplined performance to clinch progression.

The decisive moment came in the 26th minute when Congolese forward Steven Ebwola found the back of the net to secure all three points.

The victory saw Al-Hilal strengthen their grip on top spot in the group, finishing with 11 points. Saint Eloi Lupopo, meanwhile, exited the competition at the group stage after remaining on five points at the bottom of the standings.

In the other Group C encounter, South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns F.C. booked their quarter-final berth with a 2-0 home win over Algeria's Mouloudia Club (MC Alger).

Colombian forward Brayan Muniz struck twice, in the 6th and 64th minutes, to lift Sundowns to nine points and secure second place in the group. MC Alger bowed out of the tournament after finishing third with seven points.
