Doha: Qatar Chamber has participated in the 52th meeting of the Federation of GCC Chambers (FGCCC) held on December 12 in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. The Chamber’s delegation was led by QC Second Vice Chairman Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba. The delegation also included Board Member Abdulrahman Abduljalil Abdulghani, QC Director General Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Economic Expert Dr Mohamed Ibrahim, Legal research head Hamad Ali Almerri and Secretary of Director General Saeed Qadomi.
The meeting decided to hold FGCCC executive committee meeting in Qatar in February 2020. The meeting ratified the minutes of the 51th meeting of the FGCCC held on June 15, 2019 and follow up its recommendations.
The agenda also reviewed recommendations of 45th and 46th meetings of the executive committee and discussed proposed amendments on the statute and internal system of the federation. It also included the appointment of auditor for the year 2019 and discussed the annual report of the FGCCC General Secretariat for the year 2018.
The meeting also discussed the 2020 budget and updates of the establishment of the new headquarter of the federation.
Meanwhile, the Chamber’s delegation participated in the EU-GCC Business Forum held in Muscat under the theme ‘Technology as an enabler for future growth and prosperity’ in the participation of about 450 delegated from both the Gulf and the EU.
The participating experts discussed the role that both current and future technology will play in the education, logistics and manufacturing sectors.
