Doha: Experts commended the Supreme Judicial Council’s (SJC) newly launched WhatsApp-based judicial services, highlighting their wide scope, rapid response, and user-friendliness.

Lawyer Saif Al-Muradi described the platform as a transformative leap toward delivering smarter, faster, and more accessible justice to all users, both in Qatar and abroad.

The Supreme Judicial Council announced last week the rollout of a new suite of digital services via WhatsApp, supported by a “virtual employee” powered by robotic process automation (RPA) technologies.

This initiative is part of the Council’s broader strategy to modernise the justice system, simplify legal procedures, and improve access to services through smart technology.

Speaking to Qatar TV recently, Al-Muradi said the real value of the new system lies in its ability to combine speed, precision, efficiency, and simplicity—all of which are critical to legal users.

“The platform allows seamless access to essential judicial services from anywhere in the world. Its user-centric design and intelligent data integration set a new benchmark in legal digital services,” he said.

The virtual employee responds instantly through WhatsApp, enabling users to access services such as filing legal memos, checking case statuses, obtaining copies of rulings and hearing summaries, and finding upcoming hearing dates.

These services are available through the WhatsApp number 44597777 without requiring registration on court portals or apps, using the user’s national address-linked phone number to ensure privacy and security.

Al-Muradi also pointed out that such innovations are particularly beneficial for investors and families abroad.

“Investors often assess a country’s legal infrastructure before engaging. This kind of digital access enhances trust and streamlines interaction with the legal system,” he said.

The WhatsApp platform offers users a comprehensive view of their legal proceedings, including case details, next hearing schedules, and any submitted or pending memos.

Whether initiating a claim or responding as a defendant, litigants can stay updated and better prepared, significantly improving their courtroom experience.

This service rollout is part of a national initiative to develop digital justice systems and aligns with Qatar’s broader digital transformation agenda.

The Council emphasised that this launch marks the first phase of a larger digitalisation project that integrates artificial intelligence and automation to improve judicial efficiency.

By leveraging WhatsApp—a widely used and familiar platform—the Council aims to reduce reliance on traditional service channels, ease pressure on court facilities, and empower users with convenient, real-time access to essential judicial services.

The Supreme Judicial Council reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the efficiency, transparency, and accessibility of Qatar’s justice system, stating that the virtual employee is a milestone in building a more intelligent and inclusive legal environment.
