The Philippines will lift its suspension of worker deployments to Saudi Arabia by November, Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople said in a mobile-phone message Wednesday.

The Southeast Asian nation under the previous administration last year halted sending workers to Saudi Arabia, its top destination for migrant employees.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said in his congressional address in July that his government is in talks with Saudi officials on proper pay and treatment of Filipino workers. Deployments will resume after the two nations reached a consensus on labor reforms, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.
