Hathab Series: Brilliant Ghanim wins penultimate round of Small Tour

DOHA: Talented Qatari rider Ghanim Nasser Al Qadi captured the top honours of the Small Tour as  the penultimate round of the hugely popular Hathab Equestrian Tour commenced at Souq Waqif Arena yesterday. 

Ghanim and his horse were faster than the popular riders Saeed Nasser Al Qadi and Hamad Nasser Al Qadi who settled in for the second and third places respectively. 

Earlier, in the 70/85 cm event for future riders,  Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al Thani secured the top place on the podium when he guided his horse to outplay Ahmed Jassim Al Suwaidi and Fahad Abdulkarim who joined him at the podium. 

In the second competition for the future riders, Abdulaziz Majid Al Ghanim clocked the fastest time and secured the first place while Tamim Nasser Al Qadi and Kanz Azzam Abdulla  finished second and third respectively.

The final day of the penultimate round of the series will see the Open Class and Big Tour class events scheduled to be held after 4.30pm today.

After today’s stage, riders will be up for the challenge one last time on April 26-28 when the 12th round of the hugely popular series takes place.

The Tour organisers had moved the 11th leg of the QR1m series to the popular tourist destination in Doha where the Souq Waqif Equestrian Festival is being held. 

Hathab Series is an initiative of H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee. The championship is jointly organised by Al Shaqab and Qatar Equestrian Federation.
